The Minnesota Twins' current 10-game road trip may likely determine if the ball club will become buyers or sellers as the trade deadline approaches, a source close to situation reported on Thursday.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, Twins general manager Terry Ryan said moving upcoming players will entirely depend on the team's current road trip.

The Twins (37-52) already lost nine of their last nine games and are now 12 games behind American League central leader Detroit Tigers (50-41).

Darren Wolfson of 1500ESPN.com said the Twins will approach former American League MVP Justin Morneau to discuss the potential price tag of an extension deal, days before the trade deadline.

The Cleveland Indians (48-44), currently second in the American League Central standings, are also looking to upgrade the team's pitching rotation.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick posted on his Twitter account that the Tribe are certainly searching for another solid pitcher who will stick with the team for multiple years.

"Indians are seeking starting help, but they'd prefer a pitcher they can control for multiple years. Makes Matt Garza a tough fit," tweeted by Crasnick.

The Kansas City Royals will likely keep Ervin Santana beyond the trade deadline, even though they could take more assets in exchange for the hurler.

Santana boasted a 5-5 record with 2.90 ERA, 94 strikeouts and 24 walks this season for the Royals (43-46), who are still in the thick of a wide-open AL Central race.

According to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports, a scout even considered Santana more valuable than Matt Garza, who is arguably the hottest pitcher available on the market.

There's still a possibility GM Dayton Moore will field an offer for Santana, especially if the Royals are unable to keep up with the leaders.
