J.J. Abrams is already the king of the geeks, helming both Paramount's Star Trek franchise as well as the upcoming Disney Star Wars sequel. A leaked treatment for a film codenamed "Superman Flyby" emerged earlier this year, and revealed that he was also preparing to get his hands on the superhero genre.
"Man of Steel" is a huge film for Warner Bros as the studio no longer has the money making "Dark Knight" and "Harry Potter" franchises to rely on financially. The importance of the new Superman flick is so great that the company has even stated that the future of the "Justice League" movie will depend on the gross of "Man of Steel." Given the "Dark Knight's" success, it is no surprise that the Christopher Nolan-directed films keep getting brought up in conversations relating "Man of Steel."
