Sony has unveiled a series of international posters for its upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
The first of the set features Spider-Man engaged in aerial battle with the villainous Electro. Spidey is actually in a hanging position in mid-air that is reminiscent of an "Iron Man 3" poster from last year's summer film.
The second poster features an extreme close-up on Spider-Man's left eye; reflected in it is Electro preparing his next big attack.
The final poster is probably the least imaginative and simply features Spider-Man with his back to the viewer; in front of him is a massive blue sky, with the words "His Greatest Battle Begins May 2." The thunder and lightning in the background hints at Electro and other major villains set to arrive in the film.
Sony has been promoting the film actively over the last few months in anticipation for the movie's May 2 release. The company launched a viral blog for the fictitious Daily Bugle and recently posted an update on Dr. Connors, the villain from "The Amazing Spider-Man."
"The trial of Dr. Curt Connors came to an end as the former geneticist for Oscorp Industries was found guilty on all twenty counts for which he was indicted, including the murder of NYPD Captain George Stacy," read the post. "Connors and his attorney, Anne Weying, were unable to convince the jury that he was not responsible for his deadly actions while transformed. His defense that he only injected himself with the serum that changed him into the Lizard to prevent Oscorp Industries from experimenting on innocent civilians did not sway the jury."
There is no news on whether the villain will reappear in the next movie.
