Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" has won the Las Vegas Film Critics' Awards

The movie also won the Best Director award for McQueen, and the Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong'o. Patricia Norris won Best Costume Design and Hans Zimmer won Best Score for their work on the film.

"Gravity" also took a number of awards including Best Film Editing, which was awarded to director Alfonso Cuaron, Best Cinematography for Emanuel Lubezki, and Best Art Direction. The movie also won the Best Visual Effects award.  

The Best Actor award went to Matthew McConaughey for his work on "Dallas Buyers Club" while Jard Leto won the Best Supporting Actor award for his work on the film.

Emma Thompson took home her second prize for Best Actress for her performance in "Saving Mr. Banks."

"Blue is the Warmest Color" won the Best Foreign Film award while "Frozen" took the Best Animated film award. In the Documentary category "Blackfish" surprised beating out favorite "The Act of Killing."

The Critics' circle also handed out genre awards including Best Family Film for "Saving Mr. Banks," Best Comedy for "This is the End," Best Horror/Sci-Fi Film for "Pacific Rim," and Best Action Film for "Lone Survivor."

Meanwhile, Tye Sheridan won the Youth in Film award for his turn in "Mud." Ryan Coogler won the Breakout Filmmaker of the Year award for his debut film "Fruitvale Station."

The Las Vegas Film Critics also announced a top 10 list that included "Dallas Buyers Club," "Gravity, "The Wolf of Wall Street," "American Hustle," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Saving Mr. Banks," "Nebraska," "Her," and "Lone Survivor."
