The first trailer for the hotly anticipated "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" has been unveiled.
The trailer starts off with a few images of a forest before taking the viewer to what looks like an underground area filled with crowds of humans listening to a speech by Dreyfus (Gary Oldman).
"We've been through hell together. We spent four years fighting that virus and then another four fighting each other," Dreyfus says in voiceover. "It was chaos...You all know what we're up against," he says.
Then an image of destruction takes over with another voice screaming out "I need to speak to Caesar!"
The next image is the most potent of the entire trailer and features a tight close-up on Caesar, the ape that dominated the first film in the series "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." It is clear from this image, that the ape is now a changed animal and his vicious glare is quite imposing and shocking. The camera slowly pulls back as the words, "And I want you to know that it's not just about power; it's about giving us the hope to rebuild and reclaim the world that we lost" are proclaimed.
The image continues to pull back until it is revealed that Caesar's other fellow apes are beside him, ready for the fight. The title for the film then appears.
The film is slated for a July 11, 2014 launch date, according to its IMDB page. Oldman headlines a cast that also includes Andy Serkis, Judy Greer, Terry Notary, Karin Konoval and Jason Clarke. The movie was directed by "Cloverfield" filmmaker Matt Reeves.
