Two jets collided near the gates at the Miami International Airport Thursday night---authorities say that no one was injured in the crash.
One of the planes had some damage on its wingtip while the other had a damaged tail section, according to Miami International Airport spokesman Marc Henderson. Other flights had to be canceled before the two planes were cleared from the tarmac. Henderson also said that authorities are investigating the collision.
The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. when an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus with 240 passengers onboard hit an Air France 777-300 plane preparing to fly to Paris with its 350 passengers, The Miami Herald reports. Both planes were surrounding by rescue teams on the tarmac very quickly after the collision.
The Miami Herald also reports that the passengers that were on the Argentina flight were permitted to leave the plane while the passengers leaving for France had to stand in lines for hours to reschedule their flight.
Some of the passengers were losing patience with the situation.
"The first altercation I saw was a group of guys that got fed up with people cutting in front of them," Alex Legion, a 24-year-old professional basketball player from Hungary and passenger on the Air France flight, told The Miami Herald. "The second altercation I saw was when people from business class started to cut the economy line and a lady and a guy got into an argument."
Two commercial aircrafts were damaged last month at Fort Lauderdale International Airport when the wingtip of one plane hit the tail section of another plane that was parked and out of service, the Miami Herald reports.
