Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda,7, embodies so much of her father's characteristics according to his parents who were interviewed by Australia's New Idea Magazine.
The Dark Knight star died on Jan. 22, 2008 in his New York City apartment from an accidental overdose of prescription medication-next week marking the five-year anniversary of his death. He was 28 years old.
Ledger's mother Sally Ledger said that she still feels the pain from losing her son.
"It has been an extremely difficult five years, as not a day goes by when we don't feel the immense loss of Heath," Heath's mother said.
Ledger's parents said that they have a very close relationship with Matilda who lives with her mother-Academy Award-nominated actress Michelle Williams-and try to visit her in the United States as much as possible.
Sally Ledger said that Matilda has acquired admirable traits from both her father and mother.
"Matilda is indeed very much like her dad. However, she also possesses the beauty of her mamma. Lucky girl," she said.
Heath Ledger's father Kim said that Matilda has the same mannerisms when she walks and is very respectful.
"Our family has the most wonderful relationship with both Matilda and Michelle," Kim Ledger said. "We talk frequently and visit as often as we can."
This is not the first time Heath's father has had media presence.
Kim Ledger spoke out about gun laws following the Aurora theater massacre that ensued during a midnight screening of The Dark Night Rises- the next Batman film after the one his son starred in as the Joker.
Kim also made a promise after his son's death that he would take care of Matilda and Williams, despite the fact that she was not included in his will.
