Stopping by NBC's "Today" show to promote her new TV show, "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami," a three-month pregnant - but baby bump free - Kim Kardashian revealed that she'd had infertility issues and announced her due date.
While she admits the pregnancy was unplanned, she says she was thrilled to hear the news as she, like her sister Khloe, struggles with infertility problems.
"Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine, and I have similar issues," she told the Today Show.
"It was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens," she added.
Kim's younger sister Khloe has openly discussed her fertility challenges during her three years of marriage to Lamar Odom.
The 32-year-old said the reality of her pregnancy hasn't totally hit her just yet.
"I think until I really start seeing, like, a belly, it won't really sink in. It's just like a weird realization until you really start seeing the physical changes, um, and every day's different."
While Kim announced that she and her boyfriend of nine months, rapper Kanye West, would welcome their first child together in July, she also said the couple don't have any current plans to marry.
"[I'm] so content with how things are right now. And how life is and we're so happy. We definitely want that in the future, but I'm not in a rush," Kardashian said.
"What I've learned in life is - I was always such a planner, and... you think your life is going to be a certain way, and the best surprises just happen when you don't plan."
She might be trying to live more of a free spirit life style these days, but Kim might want to begin planning how to end her divorce to estranged husband Kris Humphries if she doesn't want to give birth to West's child while the two are still married. By the time the couple welcomes their first child she's likely to still be married to the Brooklyn Nets basketball player.
Kardashian's reportedly desperate to finalize her divorce, and has claimed Humphries is "spiteful and vindictive" and blames him for dragging out the process, sources told TMZ.
"I can't speak for anyone else [about why Kris hasn't signed]. It's a process. ... It's happening, hopefully," she awkwardly explained.
Those divorce proceedings could last until at least this summer, though. Humphries won't proceed with the divorce unless Kardashian admits their 72-day marriage was fraud. His lawyers say the whole union was a charade for "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," while the socialite says it was for love.
If Humphries and Kardashian can't reach a settlement soon, due to Humphries' basketball schedule, the earliest date for a divorce trial is June.
