On Jan.18 the action thriller "Broken City" will debut in theaters starring Russell Crowe, Mark Wahlberg and Catherine Zeta Jones.

The film tells the story of ex-cop Billy Taggart (Wahlberg) as he begins following the wife, Cathleen Hostetler (Zeta Jones) of the New York City Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Crowe). During his investigation he uncovers  a much bigger scandal. After being double crossed by the Mayor, Taggart seeks redemption and revenge.

"Broken City" marks the first feature Allen Hughes directs without his brother Albert Hughes. The two recently co-directed "The Book of Eli" starring Denzel Washington.  Allen Hughes previously directed a short segment of "New York, I Love You."

Russell Crowe last starred in "Les Miserables" and garnered a Best Ensemble nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The actor will also star in the upcoming film "Man of Steel" and "Winter's Tale." Mark Wahlberg last starred in "Ted" and will also be seen in Michael Bay's new film "Pain and Gain."

British actress Catherine Zeta Jones recently starred in the critically panned film "Playing For Keeps" and she will reunite with director Steven Soderbergh for "Side Effects."

"Broken City" also stars Barry Pepper, Jeffrey Wright and Kyle Chandler. "City" was partly shot in New York and Louisiana. The film will be released in 2,700 theaters and has yet to be screened for critics. 20th Century Fox will distribute.
