Singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake gave fans a sneak peak into his upcoming album on Sunday night when he dropped his first single in years, "Suit & Tie" featuring rapper Jay-Z. Along with the new single, Timberlake published an open letter to his fans revealing some details on his upcoming album 'The 20/20 Experience.'

The Timbaland-produced track is a mixture of R&B and dance that is bound to be played in future dances, weddings and birthday parties to come. "Suit & Tie" is the first single that Timberlake has released since his 2006 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' album, HuffPost Entertainment wrote.

Just hours after hitting the web, "Suit & Ties" reached No. 9 on iTunes Top 100 Songs chart and No. 1 in the Top Singles.

The former 'NSYNC singer also posted an open letter to his fans describing how his new album came about. "Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC," Timberlake wrote.

He continued, "The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn't expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I've had in my career... Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process."

"What I came up with is something I couldn't be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I've discovered along the way," Timberlake said. "I'm calling it "The 20/20 Experience," and it's coming out this year. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it."

An official release date for the new album has not been announced. Timberlake's new single and upcoming album comes just as girl group Destiny's Child announced they would also be dropping a new single and album this year.
