Google's Nexus 4 is supposed to compete against Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung's Galaxy S3, but how does it fare when dropped to ground?
The drop test measures how durable a device is and it can be dropped at certain levels usually until the device's screen shatters or features heavy damage.
The folks from GizmoSlip provided the Nexus 4 drop test and will drop it from the back, corner, and front at four-feet.
As a reminder, the Nexus 4 features a 4.8-inch screen with 1,280x720 pixel resolution, 306 pixels per inch, 8GB and 16GB for internal storage with 2GB of RAM, eight-megapixel rear-facing camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and 2,100 mAh battery capacity.
The first back drop saw the device land on one of its corners. Since it landed on the corner, the first drop will be considered as the corner drop instead. Regardless, the result of the first drop featured scratches on a corner, but the Nexus 4 is still responding normally.
The second drop is another attempt of the back drop. The result saw scuffs and scratches on the back but it's considered minor. The Nexus 4's screen is still functioning at this point.
The final drop is the face drop at four-feet.
Did it survive?
"It did not."
The screen of the Nexus 4 "is completely shattered." The screen no longer responds to touches aside from the on-off button. The glass of the screen is also coming out of the device, which could prove as a hazard to an uncovered hand.
