As the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) winds down, tech junkies everywhere have been left with a wealth of rumors surrounding 2013's upcoming products. Apple's devices are at the top of the food chain, and an analyst believes that the next-gen iPad and iPad Mini will be releasing soon - in March.
Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, well known for his Apple speculations, based his report after attending CES 2013.
"Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March," said White.
"The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October."
White's speculation falls right in line with a previous rumor from Macotakara (via 9to5Mac).
"According to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013. Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight. (The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm), Macotakara wrote.
The next-generation iPads should come with the standard hardware upgrade, and it's also said that the iPad Mini 2 will be utilizing Apple's Retina display.
Apple is expected to ramp up its production cycles in order to release more devices per year. According to most reports, Apple will be releasing a new iPhone in the first half of 2013 and a low-cost iPhone sometime in late 2013.
