Beauty queen Katherine Webb's overnight fame has grown to the point where she has even caught the attention of the NBA's king...well, for a moment.

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James was one of the thousands who began following Webb after she was caught on camera during Monday's BCS National Championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame.

Webb, who is dating Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, gained more than 90,000 Twitter followers overnight after on-air announcer Brent Musburger began pouring on compliments towards the reigning Miss Alabama.

"You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women," Musburger said on air of Webb. "What a beautiful woman."

James, last season's NBA Most Valuable Player ,who has 6,919,918 followers on Twitter, began following her shortly afterwards, which drew a storm of attention on Twitter that included an internet meme of James checking out Webb's account on his phone and other comments.

"so Lebron James followed Katherine Webb during the game then unfollowed her real brief. cause everyone caught that. Lol," tweeted user "phily."

Another Twitter user Denise L tweeted, "The morning animals think that LeBron James following KatherineWebb is kind of creepy, lol"

Brendan Miller also had fun with it. "Lebron James is following Katherine Webb now! I wonder how Aj feels knowing his GF is more famous than him now."

"The power of social media even Lebron James followed KatherineWebb, u know he accidentally did it when he was checking her out, got caught," tweeted a user named J.D.

"Hahah @KingJames just followed Katherine Webb she's gonna have to have a blue check by her name after this game," wrote one user named Andrew Bryant.

James, a noted college football fan, subsequently un-followed her later.

When McCarron, who has more than 87,000 Twitter followers himself, was told that James was following his girlfriend, his reaction was a disbelieving "No way."

"Maaaan, I'm gonna tweet him and I'm gonna get a follow. That's messed up. Hey, I guess she's more famous than me," he told Yahoo! Sports.
