Notre Dame suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of Alabama at the BCS Bowl Championship in Miami Gardens, Fla.
Alabama started the game strong, scoring two touchdowns during their first three possessions. By the end of the night, Alabama won the title for the third time in four years with 42-14 against Notre Dame despite the latter being undefeated yet a nine-point underdog ahead of Monday's game.
"They were absolutely, by far, the fastest, biggest, strongest team we have played," said Notre Dame linebacker Danny Spond, according to The Sun Times.
“We’ve got to get physically stronger, continue to close the gap there, and just overall you need to see what it looks like,” said Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly. “Our guys clearly know what it looks like. They’re back-to-back national champs. So that’s what it looks like. Measure yourself against that, and I think it was pretty clear across the board what we have to do.”
The tweets on Twitter made the BCS game the number one topic during Monday night.
