The popular Hispanic baby names for 2012 have been released.
Based on over 60,000 names provided by mothers in the U.S. and 22 Spanish-speaking countries born between January and November, Sofia and Santiago were given as the top names for the sixth consecutive year.
According to BabyCenter en Español Deputy Editor Erika Cerebros, the second top female name is Isabella, likely due to the Isabella "Bella" Swan Cullen from the "Twilight" books and movies saga.
When it come to boys names, "Boys' names are usually more conservative and traditional than girls' names, and this year they were even more so. There were few changes in the top 10 list, with Santiago in the number one slot and Matías in second place (up one place from last year)."
Boys names Ignacio, Christian, Sergio, Anthony, Joshua, Juan Martín, Álvaro, and Valentín waved goodbye this year while

BabyCenter en Español is already preparing for the 2013 list and expects names to trend from recent celebrities such as Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. The name Jenni is expected to go up the ranks following the death of Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera.
