As CES gets ready to kick off, everybody is looking forward to getting a peek at what technologies could be hitting shelves in the near future. One high-profile handset, the Galaxy S4 won't be visible on the trade show floor, but it seems to have surfaced online.
Thanks to the folks over at SamMobile for spotting a listing for Samsung handset model GT-I9500X at the Samsung Global Download Centre. The model can be found under the categories Mobile Device and Smart Phone.
The GT-I9500 series is widely believed to be the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S3 handset's model is the GT-I9300 series, and SamMobile has stated that since the number 4 is known to be bad luck in Korea, the GT-I9500 model could be the Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy S4 will not be shown to the public at CES 2013, but a recent report suggests that Samsung will be showing the next-generation flagship smartphone to some high-level executives and partners behind closed doors. Samsung Lebanon also recently stated on Facebook that the Galaxy S4 will not be launching before May. Samsung will most likely be holding its own Galaxy S4 launch event sometime after Mobile World Congress.
Nothing official has been confirmed by Samsung, but we do have some rumors that hint at the Galaxy S4's specs. The handset is expected to come with a 5-inch 1080p display, an Exynos 5450 quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy S4 should also have 2GB RAM and be running Android 4.2.1. One rumor even claims that the Galaxy S4 could be coming with an S Pen, just like the Galaxy Note series.
