On Jan. 7th, Unimas will launch new soap opera "Quein Eres Tu?."
The series stars Puerto Rican star Julian Gil and rising star and American actress Laura Carmine.
The novella tells the story of two twin sisters (both played by Carmine) who separate as adolescents and take separate paths. Veronica turns into a cruel and ambitious women married to a rich businessman Felipe Esquivel (Gil). Natalia on the other hand has turned to a noble and hard working lower class woman.
The two sisters meet when Veronica asks Natalia to usurper her. Natalia accepts as a way to rekindle her relationship with Veronica. However underneath it all is Veronica's ambition to steal her husband's money and escape with her lover.
The series is a remake of the hugely popular 1998 soap opera "La Usurpadora" starring Fernand Colunga and Gabriela Spanic. The original story was written by Ines Rodena and was adapted by Jimena Romero and Lina Uribe for the current version.
Laura Carmine recently had her breakout role in the series "Amor Bravio" where she played the villain Ximena Diaz Santos. Julian Gil rose to fame after his villainous turn in "Sortilegio" as Leonardo Soto. "Quien Eres Tu?" marks his first role as a protagonist. He will resume his role as judge in the reality show "Nuestra Belleza Latina" when it premieres in January on Univision."Quien Eres Tu?" premieres at 10 p.m. EST and was shot in Colombia under RTI productions and Televisa.
