On Friday, Fox News announced a new addition to the staff of Fox News Latino. Hernán Rozemberg, a former freelance reporter for the Associated Press and former senior correspondent for NPR, was named the news site's Senior Editor.
Rozemberg, who was born in Argentina and is a native Spanish speaker, has worked in the field journalism for over 15 years. He served as a Bureau Chief and senior correspondent for NPR's "Fronteras: The Changing America Desk," where he covered issues of immigration and border security. Rozemberg's latest story for the news organization focused on Mexican drug cartel killings involving labor activists.
According to a statement released by Fox News Latino, Rozemberg also worked as a freelance journalist at the Associated Press based in San Antonio, Texas and has reported on immigration for the San Antonio Express-News and the Arizona Republic.
The veteran reporter has won numerous awards for his work, including the Media Leadership Award by the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 2006, the Explanatory Journalism Award by Hearst newspapers and the Investigative Reporting Award by the Associated Press.
Fox News Latino spokeswoman, Carly Shanahan, said on Friday that Rozemberg will begin working for the news site "first thing next week."
The Latino-geared news website launched in the fall of 2010, joining a number of Fox News entities online. According to Shanahan, the website features "news, politics, economic and lifestyle stories that impact the Latino community." It features content in both English and Spanish from reporters in the US and abroad.
