Nokia will be having a very fine Christmas following its release of the Lumia 920 in China as prices vary in the US.

Huge lines were seen at the Nokia Shanghai store, according to NokiaPowerUser. The lines ultimately led to the Lumia 920 to sell out within two hours. The smartphone, utilizing the Windows Phone 8 operating system, started to sell at 3 p.m. local time and then ran out of stock by 5 p.m.

Similar to how AT&T and Nokia in the US, the number of Lumia 920 devices in stock was not released to the public.

As Latinos Post reported, 2.5 million devices of the Lumia device have been sold by the end of November, worldwide. The device has previously been sold out in AT&T online, Amazon, and Best Buy, pending on the color of the device.

The Lumia 920 stock has since been restored for the most part.

From Amazon Wireless, the Lumia 920 4G has a starting price of $39.99 for new AT&T customers choosing either an individual or family plan, then increases to $69.99 for existing AT&T users for either individual and family accounts. It will also cost the AT&T user $69.99 to add the Lumia 920 to a new line. The phone-only price of the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is $449.99, compared to the original price of $599.99.

From Best Buy, the Lumia 920's price is $99.99 when either starting a two-year contract, adding a line, or upgrading. The price jumps to $599.99 when replacing the device.

On AT&T, the exclusive carrier of the Lumia 920 in the US, the prices start the same as Best Buy when signing for a two-year contract. However, a one-year plan with the Windows Phone 8 smartphone increase prices to $349.99 and a month-to-month contract will cost $449.99. However, on AT&T, the blue and yellow color options of the Lumia 920 are out of stock. Currently, the black, white, and red smartphones are available.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop commented on the production of the Lumia 920, if perhaps the smartphones are selling out due to producing little amounts of the device.

Speaking to Finnish national public broadcasting company Yle, Elop said, "We're on a strategy as we introduce the 920 and 820 to start with an initial level of production and to build that over time, to get to the point where we are expanding everything that we are doing, store by store and now country by country, and going into the next part of the new year. So we are on a very deliberate strategy to grow this over time and things are going reasonably well based on the consumer feedback."
