Manchester City only has one loss all season, but it is that one match that has them a full six points behind first place and in serious peril of retaining the English Premier League championship.
Roberto Mancini's squad has had a disastrous fall season despite being in second place and having a full seven point lead on third place Chelsea. They are out of the Champions League and with Manchester United's six point lead, the only thing left for them to do is continuing racking up wins and hoping Man U loses some matches.
The team has a prime opportunity to do just that when they face off against Reading on Saturday morning. Carlos Tevez, Eden Hazard, and Sergio Aguero all have at least six goals for the team but Mario Balotelli is making all the headlines of late. The striker fined the squad recently for dropped wages he would lose for suspended matches. Balotelli has since abandoned the appeal, but his move has only highlighted the turmoil in the team and with Mancini.
The coach called the fines "normal" and added that Balotelli must realize his own potential. He even added that Super Mario deserves a chance but must earn it. Balotelli is suffering from an illness and will not play Saturday.
Manchester City's opponent, Reading, is coming off a 5-2 loss to Arsenal and has now lost six straight matches and has only won once in 17 matches this season. With just nine points and seven points separating them from relegation, this team must fight for their lives if they want to return to the league next season.
Prediction: Expect Manchester to do what Arsenal did to this reeling Reading team, especially since they are home; 4-1 Manchester City.
