Conor McGregor has never been known to back down from anything, whether that be on social media or in real time.

Most have probably read that celebrated racism rant retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. let out, one that involved McGregor, Ronda Rousey and Gennady Golovkin.

Mayweather believes that racism has been playing a part and hit back at the level of criticism that the names mentioned were getting compared to African-Americans such as Andre Ward. Mayweather touched on the McGregor issue and had said that he was not really familiar with the Irishman. Such all the more adds fuel to the fire for how can Mayweather generalize the alleged racism issue other than what he reads or hears from others?

Regardless, Mayweather being in the center of controversy is nothing new. In fact, he thrives on such. However, so does McGregor who has been known to respond on such once he has the time, as reported via the Washington Post.

Apparently, he had time and the response was a pretty nasty one. Here is McGregor’s response via his Instagram.

“Floyd Mayweather, don’t ever bring race into my success again. I am an Irishman. My people have been oppressed our entire existence. And still very much are. I understand the feeling of prejudice. It is a feeling that is deep in my blood,” says McGregor.

It seems Mayweather’s rants have gone as far as irking “The Notorious," and now the Irishman is challenging the boxer to a fight.

“If you want we can organize a fight no problem,” he adds. “I will give you a fair 80/20 split purse in my favor seen as your last fight bombed at every area of revenue. At 27 years of age I now hold the key to this game. The game answers to me now.”

As expected, McGregor is someone who will not be outdone by Mayweather when it comes to brash talk. From here on, it remains to be seen if Mayweather will once again jab back.

There is a chance he would but Mayweather would normally do it indirectly. He is likely to respond but in a general way as he continues to play McGregor and the fans following him which eventually turns into news.

Regardless, such is not expected to be a distraction for McGregor who is set to return to the Octagon this coming March for UFC 197. He will be getting his first taste of lightweight action against the reigning champion, Rafael dos Anjos.

Mayweather is likely to take a shot at McGregor soon if he falls to dos Anjos.
