It is that time of the year again when advanced technology and gadgets take center stage, and a lot of them were on hand at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
On display were a variety of devices and advanced solutions, each pegged to take consumer electronics use to another level.
The variants ranged from the usual mobile phones, drones, robots and wearables, to electric vehicles and booting up the home setting to an entirely new level.
With that said, there are too many devices to mention so allow us to whittle down that list to seven items that deserve attention and anticipation.
Drones Everywhere!
Everyone perhaps knows by now that drones have been increasing in demand. Some view them as toys while others use them in another way, like taking pictures or videos from above. There were plenty of it around at CES 2016, each catering to a certain niche.
Some of the notable ones that came out include the Mota JetJat Nano Drone, a tiny piece believed to be the smallest drone in the world right now, as mentioned by Fox News.
Aside from that, other drones worth noting include the Powerup FPV (first paper airplane drone) and the Zeiss VR One headset, which combines drone technology with virtual reality in a headset, giving users a better view of the sky.
Turntables Return
Remember the good old days when vinyl records were a hit? Well, Sony technically brings them back with the PS-HS500 via USA Today. It not only plays records but converts vinyl records into high-resolution audio files. This should be good news for folks who still have some of those old LP or 45s around.
Hoveboards are still around
They were one of the big stars during the previous holiday season, and it seems hoverboards are still around. Despite the concern of some on their safety, the contraptions were still around to help anyone get around without taking another step.
LG’s K Series
Mobile phones were expected to be around, and LG unveiled its own share of budget-friendly devices. The LG K Series was brought out in the open, a seemingly lush device that is not heavy on the pocket. The LG K10 and K7 were in tow, something that price-conscious folks may want to get their hands on soon.
8K TV
LG has been known to be a player in the TV segment, and the CES 2016 was perfect to unveil their 98-inch 8K LED TV. It offers a mind-boggling resolution of 7680x4320, a flat screen that is four times the resolution compared to a 4K TV and eight times that of a full HD TV.
Rollable Displays
It may only be 18 inches but offering an uncanny rollable display deserves some attention. Imagine the time when you can easily roll up your TV display and unroll it when you want to catch something on screen? LG feels it could come in handy in the future, especially for space-saving concerns. Hopefully, there will be something bigger in store.
Oculus Rift VR
Oculus lifts the covers on virtual reality with the debut of the highly awaited Oculus Rift VR. While it does cost a bundle ($599), this new innovation could perk up the shortcomings of virtual reality in the modern world. The Oculus Rift should be ideal both for gaming and business.
