Ronda Rousey may have her most daring photoshoot yet in the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2016.
Sports Illustrated revealed that MJ Day, editor of SI Swimsuit, shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, which suggested that the former UFC women’s champion may grace the pages of the magazine again.
The image showed an exotic shoot, but did not fully show the identity of the model. However, several internet users raved that the woman in the picture is most probably Rousey. A number of tattoos were spotted on her body-painted figure, which hinted that it was indeed the MMA beauty. Her identity will be confirmed in February 2016. MyMMANews cited that Rousey has the same wrist tattoos as the person that was shown by Day.
“#instabooty if #2016 keeps going like this then I’m going to be one happy happy girl! #bootypaint #siswimsuit,” the Instagram caption read. It is still uncertain how much body paint will be applied on the star, but many believe that the 2016 shoot will be racier than last year’s. Fans took to social media to discuss their predictions and feedback.
Rousey is currently recovering after a shocking loss against Holly Holm at UFC 193, based on the same Sports Illustrated report. The latter broke Rousey’s undefeated record and took the UFC women’s bantamweight belt. The two will most likely have a rematch within the year, although plans have yet to be finalized. After her last match, Rousey has been quiet and stayed out of the public’s eye for a few weeks. Sydney Morning Herald cited, however, that during the New Year, the former champ seemed to have regained her spirits.
“I was adored once, too,” Rousey posted on Instagram. Apparently, she must have been bothered with all the media attention that Holm has been getting at her expense. Rousey is expected to be in the comeback trail in 2016. She also mentioned that she needed to beat Holm and will do everything to get her title back.
WSOF revealed that Rousey was featured in the IMPACT25 listing of ESPNW, and will be hosting “Saturday Night Live” on Jan. 23, 2016. In the meantime, Rousey fans can look forward to possibly new sultry photos of her in the upcoming SI Swimsuit Issue. Despite her defeat, Rousey did not seem to have suffered in terms of popularity.
More updates and details on Ronda Rousey and the 2016 SI Swimsuit Issue are expected soon.
