Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that he will be at Wrestlemania 32 when the annual WWE extravaganza takes place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas this April 3, 2016.
While that should be a welcome development to WWE and “Rock” fans, many are now wondering if he will merely appear or compete via the NY Daily.
However, if a previous report from Wrestling Inc. is to be a basis, it is unlikely that we will see the “People’s Champion” competing in any kind of match. The reason for this is because Johnson will be busy filming the upcoming “Baywatch” movie that will co-star Zac Efron.
In the same report, it was mentioned that filming will take place in the Savannah area between March and April, which in all would make it almost impossible for “The Rock” to have the time for a rare WWE match.
The good news is that “The Rock” will be around anyway, likely similar to how he appeared at Wrestlemania 31. He appeared alongside former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at the time when both had a (sort of) face off with WWE COO Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
If he is limited to an appearance role, will he be alone?
The Wrestlemania 31 special was different because it came at a time when Furious 7 was making waves in the box office. If ever he does make an appearance, “The Rock” could probably tag along some of the stars from the Baywatch movie.
If so, who could it be? Zac Efron or better yet Alexandra Daddario? Who knows if Ronda Rousey could make a re-appearance considering her UFC landscape had changed drastically after losing to Holly Holm at UFC 193?
Of the stars mentioned and if “The Rock” comes with someone in tow, it may likely be someone from the current Baywatch movie.
If not in that caliber, who knows if “The Rock” will make yet another save for his cousin Roman Reigns. He did it earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, and seeing the odds stacked on the “Big Dog”, the Rock could use some of his moves to even the odds at the WWE extravaganza.
Those are some possibilities but WWE fans may have to scratch the idea of seeing The Rock competing at Wrestlemania 32. Time is just too tight for Johnson though an appearance at the grandest stage alone could already be a big boost to the WWE’s cause.
