"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is the fourth and final installment in the critically-acclaimed "Uncharted" series. Many fans are waiting for the game which was dubbed to be the biggest among all the games in the franchise.

However, originally slated for a March 16, 2016 release date, fans will now have to wait for another month to get and play the game.

In a post by Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley at PlayStation Blog, they announced that the release date of "Uncharted 4" was moved to April 26, 2016 in the U.S. Meanwhile, release date in PAL territories and in the U.K. was also moved to April 27 and 29, 2015 respectively.

Druckmann and Straley cited that the production for the game is already wrapping up and is "shaping up" to their promised proper farewell to the game's main character Nathan Drake. However, they emphasized that, although they are doing their best to deliver based on their schedule, they realized that there are still "several key sequences" that need extra resources.

Thus, with the fact that the game is the largest "Uncharted" game to date and Naughty Dog wanted to deliver the game based on their standards and vision, the directors pointed that they decided to extend their schedule and ensure that the game is polished before submitting the "gold master" or the final disc for manufacturing.

"Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn't do it if we didn't feel in our hearts it's the best course of action for the game. To you, our loyal fans, we hope you'll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake's final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer," Druckmann and Straley added.

As previously reported by Latinos Post, "Uncharted 4" was set three years after the events of "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception." By this time, Nathan Drake was already a retired fortune hunter, living a peaceful life with his wife Elena Fisher. However, he was forced to return to his old life after his brother Sam, thought to be dead, appeared and sought his help.

The game's protagonist then found himself in a journey to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy about a long pirate colony and its fabled treasures.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be released on April 26, 2016 in U.S. and will be available for PlayStation 4.
