A Christmas puzzle is currently causing mayhem among Facebook users, albeit in a good way.
On December 16, artist Gergely Dudás posted a "Where's Wally"-like puzzle that had numerous snowmen hand-drawn in it. He also presented the challenge of finding one "hidden" panda in the image, which he warned isn't an easy feat.
Although the Hungarian artist only had 13,000 followers on Facebook, the cartoon was liked by over 42,000 users and shared at least 100,000 times since it was posted, MailOnline noted.
"The illustrator planted a few red herrings such as colourful scarves and hats, and the snowmen's facial features, made from coal, also make it difficult to spot the panda's black-rimmed eyes," the publication observed. "More than 12,000 people have commented on the image in just six days, with hundreds sharing their frustration at not being able to find it."
Some commented about their failure to find the animal in the illustration, with one saying he instead found "a dragon, 2 slippers, a can of pop," Mashable relayed.
Another user said he still wasn't able to find the panda after staring at the image for 15 minutes.
Some suspected there was no panda in the cartoon at all.
However, some were able to find the creature, with a number of them saying they spotted the black-and-white animal in just 5 seconds.
"If you haven't found the panda yet, don't give up; it's there, and this is definitely one of those puzzles where you won't be able to unsee the thing once you've finally spotted it," Mashable pointed out.
All in all, the puzzle was described as a fun and festive challenge, even among those who were unsuccessful in their panda hunt.
In the wake of the hoopla over the puzzle, its creator expressed his amazement over the popularity of his cartoon.
"The popularity of the 'panda' picture amazed me, I still can't believe it, but it makes me really happy!" he enthused, as quoted by MailOnline. "Glad to see how people like something I made."
Dudás has been making similar cartoons and puzzles in the past and posts them from time to time on his Dudolf Facebook page for his followers' enjoyment. If you're done with the panda puzzle, you can challenge your hunting skills once more with an illustration packed with colorful owls. The challenge is to find a solitary cat in it.
