LG Electronics was in the headlines recently with word of a possible metallic LG G5 coming out in February, though such is still considered a rumor.

Though that remains to be seen, there could be one model that will not be coming in 2016, the LG G Flex 3.

As the year comes to a close, many are anticipating the roster of models that leading mobile phone brands will have to offer. Apparently, these are the ones expected to star at CES 2016, where LG has placed the spotlight on the LG G Flex and LG G Flex 2 in recent years.

This year, however, LG could be shying away from all that with reports that the LG G Flex 3 could be skipped or scrapped as the third curved phone variant, as indicated on Media Daum. The focus will probably be on the LG V10 instead.

The rumoured shelving does come as a bit of a surprise considering there were already rumors tied up to the LG G Flex 3, including a six-inch QHD touchscreen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and something that will also be encased in a metallic shell per GSM Arena.

With that said, the LG V10 could be the one in the limelight. Though it is not expected to come out until the middle of 2016, as mentioned by Android Authority, the LG V10 did get a good reception when it debuted a few weeks back. It is a phone that doesn’t offer too much frills though its big screen and camera could be good points for consideration as batted for at Phandroid.

So what could the LG V10 carry that would make it more appealing and a better successor to the LG G Flex 3?

Among the features that the LG V10 could do well with are perhaps perking up its aesthetics and feel while also seeing how it can be reduced in terms of weight since it is a phone that is not exactly great to carry or hold.

With that said, will LG be around at CES 2016 at all? With the LG G Flex 3 out, it means that we may not see any device on their end until perhaps April if the annual regular schedule is to be followed.

The LG G5 is expected to debut by April 2016, with the LG V10 following perhaps in a month or two.

Of course there was that rumor from a Weibo user named “Zealer” about the LG G5 coming out in February, though such is something that should not be taken seriously at least for now.
