After fans and the media got excited about Kim and Kanye’s new son, Saint, the next round of talks focused on the chosen godparent.
Radar Online revealed that Kim’s older sister, Kourney Kardashian, was chosen by the star couple to become Saint’s godmother.
“Kim and Kanye both really feel that Kourtney is perfect to be Saint’s godmother,” said the insider.
Kourtney has three children with partner Scott Disick, namely Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, who is almost 1 year old. Kourtney is obviously experienced in motherhood, but the rapper and reality star allegedly had another reason to pick her as their son’s godmother.
The source said that Kourtney was next in line to be the godparent of Kim and Kanye’s second child. Kim’s younger sister, Khloe Kardashian, was previously chosen as the godmother of the couple’s first child, North West, 2.
Based on the same Radar Online article, Kim wanted her sisters to be involved in their children’s lives. Making North and Saint’s aunts their godmothers would hopefully strengthen their bond with their cousins. North was said to be very fond of her cousins and they all act like siblings around each other.
The family went to Israelin April 2015 where their daughter was baptized, EOnline stated. North or Nori was 1 year old at the time and was brought to St. James Cathedral in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. The religious ceremony was very unique and special, according to one source. While Khloe acted as godmother, the priest served as North’s godfather during the baptism, which as the usual practice if there was not any. The family exited the church at around 6:30 PM. There was a dinner afterwards with the city mayor NirBarkat at the Mona Restaurant. The family spent some time touring the Holy Land in the following days.
There is still no news on where Saint’s baptism will be held and where the family might dine together to celebrate. Fans expect it to be just as special as North’s.
While the godmother is confirmed, the couple has yet to name the godfather. More updates and details are expected soon.
In other news, it was revealed that Saint has no middle name. The boy was born on Dec. 5, 2015 at 6:13 AM at a hospital in Los Angeles. He only has two words on his name, similar to North West. There were previous speculations that Saint’s middle name would be Robert, in honor of Kim’s late father, although that does not seem to be the present case, AceShowbiz wrote.
