"Suicide Squad" is one of the most highly anticipated comic book films of 2016. More than the unique plot featuring a league of anti-heroes, it's the first time that The Joker will be featured following Heath Ledger's highly acclaimed version.
The 2016 version of The Joker will be portrayed by the frontman of the band "30 Seconds to Mars" Jared Leto. As previous "Suicide Squad" reports have indicated, Leto's version of The Joker is one to watch out for. It appears that Leto has taken his own interesting twist on the character, with him even applying method acting, which has gotten most of the film's cast and crew freaked out.
According to The Inquisitr, Ike Barinholtz recently went on an interview with Howard Stern, revealing Leto's antics on set that will have fans excited with "Suicide Squad" spoilers.
In addition, Barinholtz, who is reported to be a member of the SWAT team in "Suicide Squad", also confirms in the interview previous reports that claimed Leto's method acting activities, which had him getting on character despite the cameras not rolling.
Leto "[kept] to himself" during production, Barinholtz said, adding that things got crazy in one instance when Leto gave weird / interesting presents to his co-stars prior to production.
"He did this crazy thing...all the actors were rehearsing... so we're rehearsing, and this actor who plays the Joker's kind of lieutenant, walks in and he goes, 'Present for Ms. Quinn'," Barinholtz shared.
"He hands her a box. She opens the box, and a live, giant black rat pops out. And we're like, 'What the f-k is going on? That's crazy!" the actor added.
Barinholtz further added that the presents were only the beginning of the "crazy" stuff.
"So then 20 minutes later, we're still rehearsing and the actor comes back in and goes, 'This is for the squad from Mr. J', and he f-cking throws a pig on the table. A dead pig!" Barinholtz said.
"As he puts this pig on the table, all these bullets start to come out of it," he related.
While Barinholtz shared Leto's antics on and off camera, the actor also revealed "Suicide Squad" spoilers that could get fans hyped for the upcoming anti-hero film.
The actor revealed that "Suicide Squad" will reveal some romance between Harley Quinn and The Joker.
"His character is in love with Margot Robbie - she's Harley Quinn," Barinholtz told Stern.
The actor didn't share any further details about the uncanny romance, but the two reportedly have a past in the comics.
Venture Capital Post also reported that there could be a second trailer coming soon.
The "Suicide Squad" cast include Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jay Hernandez (Diablo), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), The Joker (Jared Leto), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Adam Beach (Slipknot) and Karen Fukahara (Katana), among others.
"Suicide Squad" is slated for release August 5, 2016.
