The world will have a new Miss Universe on Dec. 20, and Colombia's Paulina Vega is soaking in every moment she has left with the diamond-clad crown that comes with it.

A total of 81 contestants landed in Las Vegas last Sunday in preparation of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, one that the 22-year-old beauty queen won last year to break a 56-year streak without a Colombian title holder. Alluring women from all over the world - some full-time models, others simply the girl next door - will vie to succeed Vega as the 64th winner.

"Feeling like such a proud roomie!," 2015 Miss USA Olivia Jordan wrote in an Instagram post, referring to time spent with Vega. Jorden added that Vega was "absolute perfection at the welcome event! I'm so excited for all that is ahead for her as she prepares to embark on her next adventure. And I look forward to seeing her shine over the next two weeks as she prepares to pass the crown."

The three-hour event will consist of the pageant's three traditional rounds of competition: swimsuit, night gown, and a question-and-answer session. What may change, thanks in part to the Miss Universe Organization dumping Donald Trump as a partner, is the final round, along with the overall presentation of the show.

"Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with FOX marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole," Michael Antinoro, senior vice president of IMG, said in a press release. "As the broadcast leader in innovative and groundbreaking live events, FOX is the perfect partner as we look to implement new and exciting changes to this show and the franchise."

FOX will air the 2015 Miss Universe pageant live from Planet Hollywood Resort on Dec. 20. Live stream details to follow.
