Apple has a lot to offer potential customers for the holiday shopping season and it doesn't have to come in the form of the iPhone smartphones or iPad tablets.

If it is simply music and videos that pleases your appetite then the iPod series can fulfill such cravings.

Apple's latest iPod is the iPod Touch Fifth Generation (5G) while there is an alternative, and cheaper, iPod Classic.

How different are they?

The iPod Classic has a height of 4.1-inches, width of 2.4-inches, and a depth of 0.41-inches with a weight of 4.9-ounces. The iPod Touch 5G has a slightly larger height of 4.86-inches, width of 2.31-inches, depth of 0.24-inches, and weighs less at 3.10-ounces.

The iPod Classic does not have a camera.

While both iPods utilize the lithium-ion battery, playback time is slightly in favor of the iPod Touch 5G.
