The Houston Rockets continue to sputter to date and such could lead to more changes. This time, however, it could be in the player roster.

Despite the Rockets assuring him that there was no truth to the trade rumors, Ty Lawson was the leading candidate that the Rockets could trade since things just aren’t working out so far, as reported by ESPN.

While Lawson could be given more time to settle in, it is his fat contract that is apparently a cause for concern for the Rockets.

He is set to make $12.4 million this year and then a non-guaranteed $13.21 million salary next season.

Other than Lawson, there is no word on which other Rocket could be moving soon. But there could be one soon if reports are true that the Rockets are indeed interested in the services of disgruntled Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris.

It wasn’t too long ago that Morris had demanded a trade following the unceremonious trade of his brother Marcus who now plays for the Detroit Pistons. Markieff apparently took exception of the move since he and his brother agreed to a lower salary just to stay on with the Suns.

It was here where Markieff sounded off his desire to be traded though he eventually had a change of heart and stayed with the Suns. Despite all that, it was believed that the strained relationship would eventually reach a point where the forward would eventually be traded.

Now the Rockets are reportedly considering him as they try to fill in key roles which have been falling short.

To make that happen, the Rockets may need to dislodge some player/s on their end.

Should the Rockets pursue Morris, the name of Terence Jones has been mentioned by CBS Sports as someone likely to be included in the package.

However, the Rockets are not the only one in pursuit of Markieff Morris. Detroit has long been linked as a possible destination though nothing has developed to date.

If the Pistons are able to come up with something interesting to offer for the Suns, it could allow the Morris Twins to reunite in Detroit. If so, this would be ideal for Markieff and Marcus who have time and again stated they wanted to play on the same NBA squad.

The number of teams interested in Markieff Morris could, however, swell especially considering that more than a 100 players who signed new deals over the summer will becoame eligible for trades starting Dec. 15.
