There are rumors that the gameplay mechanics in “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” will be the same as in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” This means that “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” might provide a lot of insight and serve as a preview of the upcoming game.
GamingBolt revealed that although the official launch date of “Kingdom Hearts 3” is yet to be announced, there are some details on the gameplay mechanics that will probably come out in the game. No new artwork recently surfaced but there are talks that the game mechanics will be the same as the upcoming “Kingdom Hearts 2.8.”
Game director Tetsuya Nomura recently spoke to Game Informer, saying that the new game mechanics is not necessarily for them to get some feedback, but to allow people to experience “Kingdom Hearts III” by introducing a minor part of the game system. Nomura also said that he is very excited to let fans have some insight on the things to expect in the new game by playing “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” first. This means that people who are looking forward to the release of “Kingdom Hearts 3” may suddenly become interested in buying “2.8” in the meantime.
“Kingdom Hearts 2.8” is a newly remastered collection of games, including features from “Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.” It is still uncertain whether “Dream Drop Distance” will also include certain design elements of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” since the team previously found it difficult to move the 3DS gameplay onto the PlayStation 4. Nomura was particularly excited over “Birth By Sleep 0.2,” since it was where the links are strongest. The game is said to include the same amount of gameplay as in a standard “Kingdom Hearts” world. The game director shared that “Birth By Sleep” will provide a good feel on “KH 3” since the episode was made using a part of the same developing environment applied in “Kingdom Hearts 3,” based on a report by MoviePilot.
This can mean that “Birth By Sleep” might become the most exciting part of the new collection. Gamers believe that “developing environment” might mean that the game will have the same level of quality as “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” In that case, players may have to most visually enhanced “Kingdom Hearts” game when it releases.
No specific release date has been provided for both “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” and “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the moment. However, “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” is expected to launch sometime in 2016. “Kingdom Hearts” will most likely follow near the end of 2016 or early in 2017.
