IGN recently featured a new trailer of “Resident Evil Zero,” featuring Albert Wesker. The new playable character is set to add more excitement to the game, considering that he has the ability to blow up heads using his mind.
“Wesker is a new playable character in Capcom’s upcoming remaster. He can blow up heads with his mind. Behold,” stated the caption of the video, which lasted under one minute.
The trailer showed the fair-haired character in a dark suit at various locations littered with the undead. He channels his inner fire for a second and then his eyes light up as he blows up the heads of zombies. Wesker can even blow up several heads at a time. In the subsequent scenes, he was featured partnering with a female character and also blowing up other types of enemies, like a giant spider and a zombie dog.
Previously, Cinema Blend reported that the remastered version of “Resident Evil Zero” will allow players to take on the role of the villainous Albert Wesker. The new Wesker Mode lets gamers play the character during the campaign. The mode substituted Billy Coen for Albert, although Rebecca Chambers will remain with a new black outfit to match Wesker. Aside from destroying zombies with his mind, Wesker can also run with super fast speed. He is expected to have more abilities in the game. Resident Evil Timeline wrote that Wesker was a wise and cunning man who wanted to have power and dominion over all mankind for his own gain. In the upcoming game, however, he will be on the good side.
Based on the same report by Cinema Blend, Wesker has also been a playable character in spin-off titles like “Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles” and “Mercenaries 3D.” However, the Wesker Mode will be the first time that players can take on the character for the whole main series game.
The setting of “Resident Evil Zero” is before the events of the first game in the series. Bravo Team was assigned to investigate a series of murders in the Arklay Mountains outside of Raccoon City. Rebecca Chambers was separated from the group and compelled to partner with escaped convict Billy Coen to battle the various abominations in the area. Capcom stated that they will boost the game graphics.
“Resident Evil Zero” will become available early in 2016. It will retail at $19.99 and playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
