A new teaser trailer of "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be shown during Monday's fall finale of "Gotham," Fox announced on Monday. The announcement was made all the more exciting with a short promo video of "Gotham" cast weighing on which side are they on.
"The cast of Gotham is excited about the exclusive new Batman v. Superman sneak airing in Monday's finale - but whose side are they really on? You might be surprised," the official Facebook page for Gotham teased. Casts including Morena Baccarin, Robin Lord Taylor and Sean Pertwee chimed in the great debate whether the last hurrah will come from Batman or Superman.
The result is not actually surprising. "Gotham" is about Batman's home city so much so that almost everyone in the cast chose Batman. The series airs on Monday, Nov. 30 at 8/7c. Its new episode will return in February. The episode description reads: "When Bruce Wayne is kidnapped, Gordon must look to some unlikely and dangerous allies for help. It is a battle of the villains, and not everyone makes it out alive."
"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" comes to theaters March 25, 2016. The synopsis posted on the official Warner Bros website reads: "Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of her it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
The film stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. It is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio and David Goyer. The film also stars Oscar nominees Amy Adams ("American Hustle," "Man of steel") as Lois Lane; Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network") as Lex Luthor, Diane Lane ("Unfaithful") as Martha Kent and Laurence Fishburne ("What's Love Got to Do with It") as Perry White. Oscars winners Jeremy Irons ("Reversal of Fortune") as Alfred, and Holly Hunter ("The Piano") as Senator Finch; and Gal Gadot (the "Fast and Furious" films) as Wonder Woman/ Diane Prince.
The characters are based from superheroes of the DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, with Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Dacid Goyer as executive producers.
