Local media has reported that two men took hostages inside a bank located in Roubaix, a town located in the borders of France and Belgium. The incident took place at 19:00 local time.
According to reports, a bank manager and his family were held inside their house, after the delincuents tried to burglarize a bank and where chased by the police, carrying AK-47s.
The area was cordoned by the police and neighbors claimed they could hear several gunshots.
According to reports of iTELE, the hostages were rescued. Other reports claim one of the attackers is dead and the other was captured.
Police has denied the attack has to do with terrorism, instead they claim it was a robbery.
