The upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for “Halo 5: Guardians” is coming in December 2015. 343 Industries recently featured a teaser trailer for the new DLC, showing that there will be several tools, armor and weapon skins arriving soon.
Design & Trend first found the teaser video, which appeared toward the end of the “Halo 5” live stream. The game developer provided a first look at some of the features and items to expect when the DLC launches. The footage showed what seemed to be the famous M41 SSR Rocket Launcher, the Mark IV helmet, black and gold weapon skins, and a new setting with a space theme, most likely to be used in ForgeMode. IGN provided some screenshots from the video, showcasing the new armor and gear.
Forge Mode is a platform that lets players create their own multiplayer maps while using various specific tools. The creative approach has become more dynamic with the availability of new options and items. “Halo 5” also plans to enhance the creative process, as evidenced in the sneak peek. An image of the Space canvas was shown, which is one of the available templates. Design & Trend mentioned that the M41 SSR Rocket Launcher is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, and is also known as the SPNKr, in multiplayer settings. The Mark IV helmet may have some physical similarities to the one worn by Master Chief in “Halo: Combat Evolved” in 2001, but it does have its share of unique features.
Previously, “Halo 5: Guardians” also acquired a free update that added the Big Team Battle mode, which is a classic mode in the franchise. There were also new maps for big battles. Warzone PvP was made exclusively available from the beginning, but there will be familiar elements that will still be included in the massively multiplayer experience.
The first update for “Halo 5: Guardians” was launched earlier in November 2015, called “The Battle of Shadow and Light Content Update.” The patch provided various content like new weapon skins, weapons, vehicles, armors, helmets, emblems, accessories and assassination. Creative director Josh Holmes, however, told Redbull that there will be no new campaign DLC in the future.
“Halo 5: Guardians” is currently available on Xbox One, while the second DLC will arrive sometime in Dec. 2015. More news and details on the game and additional content are expected in the coming weeks.
