WARNING: POTENTIAL "GAME OF THRONES" SEASON 6 SPOILERS AHEAD!
Winter might be coming sooner than expected on "Game of Thrones." The latest "Game of Thrones" rumor suggests that the White Walkers are heading for the South, leaving the Night's Watch in dire danger. However, there could be good news in store for the upcoming season, since another rumor is saying that the Starks could be having a reunion as they avenge Winterfell during a massive battle.
Fan site Winter is Coming recently reported that a major battle involving the White Walkers could appear in "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
The battle of the White Walkers is reportedly unsurprising since fans familiar with the history of Westeros already know it. In George R.R. Martin's books, Ned Stark's ancestor, Bran the Builder, has been mentioned in legends as the one who built the Wall that separated the White Walkers from the living. The Wall is believed to be under a powerful spell that kept the undead from crossing it. However, the spells would remain effective if the Night's Watch remained "true."
According to The Inquisitr, fan circles have been debating on what "remain true" really means. Since members of the Night's Watch killing their Lord Commander Jon Snow out of revenge means failure in that task, this could mean the Wall will eventually fall apart as the effect of the spells have worn off.
In "Game of Thrones" Season 5, an episode titled "Hardhome" saw the White Walkers seemingly able to go beyond the Wall while battling with wildlings and a few men of the Night's Watch. If "Game of Thrones" Season 6 fan theories prove true, the slaughter of the Night's Watch could possibly arrive.
Meanwhile, another massive battle that could take place in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 is what fans have called the Battle of the Bastards, since it will involve the armies of Ramsay Bolton and Jon Snow.
News of the battle comes after "Game of Thrones" Season 6 rumors that a full Stark family reunion is about to happen. Fan website Watchers on the Wall reported that a scene in the set of the courtyard Winterfell was shot this week where Sansa, Ramsay Bolton, Littlefinger and Jon Snow were present.
This recent "Game of Thrones" Season 6 rumor suggests that Jon Snow is back, possibly resurrected from the dead by Melisandre, according to Melty. In addition, the appearance of the four characters at Winterfell could signal another epic battle, and a possibility that the Starks might still be able to reclaim their home.
HBO has yet to confirm the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 airdate. According to The Independent, it could almost certainly be early April.
