Friday night in Paris has shaken the world after 129 people perished on French soil at the hand of Islamic extremists. Six different sites were targeted. The Bataclan Concert Hall being the location where at least 80 people lost their lives.

Attendees gathered at the concert hall to watch the U.S. rock band Eagles of Death Metal perform. In a video captured by a guest, the band is seen performing when suddenly an alarming number of gunshots ring out.

The video below does not contain any graphic imagery, but it is still pretty chilling.

The video posted by Instagram user Sebastein Snow, was captioned "The last notes before the gunfire, panic and horror."

Other survivors have since recounted the horrific scene on various forms of media. Isobel Bowdery wrote an open letter on Facebook describing how she pretended to be dead for an hour while she watched others die around her.

"I pretended to be dead for over an hour, lying among people who could see their loved ones motionless. Holding my breath, trying to not move, not cry - not giving those men the fear they longed to see," she wrote on Facebook. "I was incredibly lucky to survive. But so many didn't."

A journalist named Julien Pearce said it took him a moment to realize he was actually hearing gunfire. Mashable reports Pearce and his friends hid in a tiny corner near the stage.

"There was no exit, so we were just in another trap, less exposed, but still a trap," he describes. Pearce also noted how shocked he was when he caught a glimpse of the attacker. "He seemed very young. That's what struck me, his childish face, very determined, cold, calm, frightening," Pearce described.

Another video has also been uploaded to YouTube by Paris Match. The footage, shot from outside the Bataclan by photographer Patrick Zachmann, shows the police engaging in gunfire with the attackers after 10 p.m.

Members of the Eagles of Death Metal are said to be accounted for. However, the band is unsure if all of the crew and production members made it out alive.
