Video game giant Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing an HD remake to one of the most popular games to the "Legend of Zelda" franchise, "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess."

According to Forbes, the game will be made for Nintendo's flagship home console the WII U. In addition to the game, gamers who pre-order will be receiving a Wolf-Link or Princess Zelda Amiibo.

While the game is not due out until the spring of 2016, the pre-order sales have already gone beyond the expectations of Nintendo. According to video game dealer Game Stop, pre-orders for the Wolf-Link Amiibo package has already almost reached the dealer's limit. While Amazon and Best Buy have reported that they are sold out for pre-orders of the Wolf-Link package.

The numbers for the sales of the HD remake are staggering and it looks like "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD" is set to be the most HD remake Nintendo has done so far.

The game originally debuted back in 2006 on both the WII U and the Nintendo Game Cube and opened to near perfect scores for both versions. "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" has been praised for its fresh new take on the "Legend of Zelda" story as well as more realistic gameplay and artificial intelligence.

The story of the game takes place a whole century after the last game in the franchise "Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time." The story begins with the newest incarnation of the Link character who is thrust into saving the land of Hyrule once again from the forces of the evil wizard Ganondorf.

Similar to another game in the franchise "A Link Between Two Worlds," "Twilight Princess" forces the hero to travel between two dimensions, the Light and Twilight realms of Hyrule. However, in a new twist, when Link is in the Twilight Realm he is transformed into a wolf and no longer has access to his normal equipment like his trusted Master Sword and Shield.

Players will have to transverse between the two realms to figure out how to save Hyrule and restore it back to greatness.

Currently "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD" is being co-developed by Tantalus Media and Nintendo and will be made available for North America and European gamers on March 4, 2016, and for the Japanese markets March 10. Aside from the Amiibo figure that will be made available to buyers, the game's soundtrack will also be packaged with the game.
