Remaining true to its commitment of providing post-launch content for "Halo5: Guardians," video game developer 343 Industries has revealed the details about its first free Downloadable Content (DLC) titled "Battle of Shadow and Light."

In the update provided at Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries cited that the new update will come with a new armor, weapons, game modes and maps.

First into the upcoming content is the new Big Team Battle playlist which will be added to the Arena Multiplayer mode. The new playlist will pit 16 players of eight members each in an all-out battle in their Warthogs, promising an "explosive" and "large-scale" arena action.

Additionally, four new maps such as Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine, and Recurve will be added. According to Game Rant, these four new maps were based on the previous maps featured in the "Halo" franchise and was created through the map creation tool called Forge.

"You'll recognize elements and aspects of the first four maps in the mix, but all four have been, in varying ways, significantly adjusted for the new mobility, weapons and features of Halo 5 - and all are available in both Custom Games and Matchmaking," 343 Industries highlighted in Halo Waypoint.

The new content will also feature 48 new REQs which range from the Ultra Rare Shinobi Armor set and Legendary Dying Star Light Rifle.

Moreover, besides making Woodland and Tundra-themed vehicle skins accessible with the upcoming DLC, the Legendary Tundra Mantis will be available as well.

Coming along with these new content is the Uncommon Shove It assassination system described to be "brutal" but "occasionally hilarious."

According to the report by Game Rant, 343 Industries is ramping up its efforts of providing monthly content in order to keep the gamers playing until the "full suite of content" come in June 2016.

Previously, Latinos Post reported that there will no longer be a story DLC for "Halo 5" and instead, the video game developer keeps its focus on its new arena multiplayer where it made various improvements to level up the gaming experience.

"Halo 5: Guardians" was dubbed to be the biggest among all other games in the "Halo" franchise. Even though it was released late in October 27, 2015, it still managed to be the top-selling game of the month where it surpasses games like "NBA 2k16," "Destiny: The Taken King," and "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate."
