The Android 6.0 Marsmallow continues and now some Motorola models may soon be enjoying the perks of the latest Android OS.
Motorola recently announced that the Moto X Style and Moto X 2nd Gen devices are next in line to receive the Android 6.0 M push which should be welcome news for the ones who have the device in tow.
As always, the roll out will be done incrementally to a couple of markets.
For the ones who have Moto X Style, the rollout will commence first in Brazil and India. The Moto X 2nd Generation on the other hand will roll out Android 6.0 M in Brazil. For now, these are the only regions who can expect that latest Android OS in the market though other regions are expected to follow soon.
It may take some weeks before the rollout covers both regions but just in case, folks residing in Brazil and India may want to prepare for it. So for the ones covered by the update, be sure to keep close watch of your device’s notification settings.
One available, make sure you have a good Internet connection and ensure that your device is at least 50% charged.
Android 6.0 M promises to bring in a slew of new features, much of which should account for better use of your Motorola handset.
Worth noting is the improved Do Not Disturb mode which should address the privacy people would want on certain occasions. The App permissions should be equally interesting since users will not get better control on which (and which not) to share with the apps you choose to install on your device.
App Standby should be welcome news for folks who have been plagued by battery life problems. With the new feature, the app should help regulate the strain that your phone’s battery has to deal with, putting seldom-used apps on reduced activity equaling to lesser power consumption when left idle.
For Motorola owners, up ahead with the Android 6.0 M push is an improved Moto Assist, Motorola Migrate and a more Attentive Display.
With the Moto X Style and Moto X 2nd Gen getting its Android bump, another device could be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow too in the coming weeks – the Moto X Pure Edition.
The device is likely to come with the new features mentioned above as Motorola ramps up its drive to bring Android 6.0 M to the various Motorola handsets it has under its wing.
