There is little over a month left before "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters and as the release date draws closer, the rumors surrounding the film become more and more grand in nature.
The following are rumors and while some may actually have merit, many of these have to be taken with a grain of salt. Some of the rumors also contain spoilers, so readers are warned.
One of the biggest mysteries so far regarding "Force Awakens" is the mysterious omission of Luke Skywalker from the promotional material for the film. Screen Crush reports that this was done on purpose by director J.J Abrams, but for what reason?
The most popular reason for this is that Luke actually turned to the Dark Side of the force and is currently working with Kylo Ren or is Kylo Ren. However, the chance of Luke actually being Kylo Ren is small since pictures of Adam Driver, the actor playing Kylo, have been seen with and without his helmet.
The best theory to come out here is that Luke could possibly be the Emperor type of character who leads the remnants of the Galactic Empire back to being the force they once were.
Another rumor floating around is that Luke actually went the path of his former mentor and friend Obi-Wan Kenobi and became a hermit, hiding his true powers from everyone. Entertainment Weekly sat down with Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the films, to try and pry some information from him about his character.
The interview did not do much in ways of getting the information from Hamill, however the veteran actor did say something that could be usefully in the future. The actor stated that he hasn't answered any questions about Luke because no one has asked him the right one. Considering how many questions the actor gets from fans every day
While the topic of Luke is hot on everyone's mind, there are some rumors that have been slowly dubbed as confirmed fact for the film. The first fact is that Finn's lightsaber is indeed the lightsaber that was previously owned by both Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Fans will remember the weapon as being lost during Luke's fight with Darth Vader in Cloud City.
Another big rumor is that boy Rey and Kylo Ren are the long lost twins of Princess Leia and Han Solo. This rumor could be true as Rey does seem to have a connection with Han during the trailers.
While the list goes on and on about possible trailers, fans will just have to wait until Dec. 18, 2015 for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" to open and put to bed all the rumors.
