EA recently launched a teaser trailer for the upcoming title, “EA Sports UFC 2.” The fighting game is set to provide a variety of new modes and features when it becomes available in spring 2016.

“EA Sports UFC 2” is the sequel to the original mixed martial arts game, titled, “UFC,” by the same developer.

“The wait is finally over! Tune in tomorrow.” EA Sports UFC posted on Twitter, together with an image of the Octagon and the speculated launch date – Nov. 10, 2015. There were no further details provided, so fans are talking whether EA meant that the game would release on the said date, or if there are other special announcements to look forward to.

Game Spot wrote that the original “UFC” game was launched for Xbox One and PlayStation4 in 2014. The first game was developed ta EA Canada who previously worked on the boxing game series “Fight Night” by EA. Polygon noted that although the original game received mixed reviews, the studio was appreciated much for providing several updates after the main launch to address glitches and other issues, as well as adding new content to maintain interest in the game.

A mobile version of the game was also launched earlier in 2015. In 2012, EA acquired the UFC rights from THQ, stating that it plans to feature several games based on the MMA firm. It seems that games based on the UFC will not be released every year, considering EA’s current pattern and release schedule of other sports games. Fans speculate that “UFC 2” may release early in 2016.

MMA Junkie cited that the first trailer for the game featured a number of new game modes and the launch date target. EA is expecting to release the game in spring 2016. The footage also hinted that there will be an Ultimate Team mode, which is a popular trading card-collecting feature in other titles from EA Sports. In other games, the mode lets gamers collect coins to purchase trading card packs in solo and head-to-head challenges. The mode is updated regularly so that players can try to recreate historic moments in sports and other situations in recent games. The trailer also presented a new knockout physics system.

The official roster for “EA Sports UFC 2” has not yet been announced, but the footage hinted that there will be several familiar faces such as Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Robbie Lawler, Jose Aldo and Ronda Rousey, among others.

More updates and details on the upcoming game are expected to surface soon.
