The Hidden Secrets DLC pack for Assassin's Creed III, which provides new single player content alongside new costumes and mutiplayer characters, launched today for the Xbox 360 and PC exclusively for Season Pass owners. Playstation 3 owners with the pass will be able to download Hidden Secrets tomorrow, while those without will have to wait until December 13. Likewise, PC and Xbox 360 Assassins sans a Season Pass will see a December 11 release. Ubisoft has not yet specified a date for the Wii U version.
The DLC "introduces three new missions (Lost Mayan Ruins, Ghost of War, and Dangerous Secret) that total one hour of gameplay. Successful completion of each mission will reward players with new in-game weapons," reports GameSpot. "In addition, the Hidden Secrets content adds two single-player costumes (Captain of the Aquila uniform and traditional Colonial Assassin outfit), as well as a pair of new multiplayer characters: Redcoat and Sharpshooter."
While the price of each DLC release indivdually is still under wraps, the Season Pass will set you back $30.
Assassin's Creed III is set during the era of the American Revolution, spanning both pre-war and post-war time periods. The third entry in the core franchise introduces a new protagonist, the half-European and half-Native American Assassin Connor Kenway.
The game's developers started fresh with a new engine called Anvil Next, which introduces all-new situational animations, increases the amount of non-playable characters (NPC's) that can inhabit the game space, and allows players to fluidly navigate the uneven surfaces and tree branches of the American frontier.
