Fans of the long-running "Final Fantasy" franchise have been waiting for a new installment in the series that started the role-playing game genre.

Fans of the series are known to be as hardcore as they can get, and relish new information on any new game that bears the name "Final Fantasy." According to Gamespot, the director of the game Hajime Tabata has released a lot of information about the next installment in the series, "Final Fantasy XV."

According to Tabata, the main protagonist of the game will be named Noctis, and he is part of the royal family of the Kingdom of Lucis. From some of the art and pictures that have been released, Noctis and his crew are strangely dressed in black, which Tabata explains to be the traditional battle garments of their respective sectors of Lucis.

Yabida reports that the game will take a lot of inspiration from Japanese mythology, with some western religious philosophy mixed in. Tabata revealed that the player will spend a lot of time learning how the world was made and how the divine beings had a hand in creating this world.

Speaking of divine beings, Eidolons, also known as the summon spells, will have a large role in the game as well. In this world, the Eidolons will be looked at as god-like creatures, with each of them commanding a certain element in the world, similar to the Greek gods and goddesses have.

With regards to the monsters that will be appearing in the game, Tabata confirmed that he wanted to keep the monsters that players will encounter more realistic than those in previous games. It seems that goblins, orcs and trolls might not make it into the game.

Tabata also said that he is having a hard time finding a way to include classic monsters such as Moogles, Tonberries and Cactuars in the game since they do not fit in the theme that the Japanese director is going for. Tabata does state, however, that the creatures willnot be counted out of the game entirely, so gamers may find these classics in secret or hard-to-reach areas.

Cities will also make a return to "Final Fantasy XV" after being removed almost entirely in "Final Fantasy XIII." Tabata states that the cities in this world will find inspiration from real-world cities. For example, Altissa is a Venice-inspired city with a series of floating islands set amongst a series of waterways and waterfalls

Currently, no release date has been given by Square Enix for "Final Fantasy XV," but fans expect an announcement by March 2016.
