Samsung and Apple have been duking it out all year both in and out of the courts, with Samsung's smartphones and tablets giving the iPhone and iPad stiff competition. While this year has pretty much seen all of its releases, a new rumor report gives us a look at some of what Samsung will be offering consumers next year in 2013.
According to the report from SamMobile, Samsung will be revealing the next Galaxy S flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4 or 'Project J' in April 2013. If this is true, then previous rumors that the Galaxy S4 could be making an appearance at the Mobile World Congress in late February have been off the mark. Instead, it looks like Samsung will be holding its own launch event to unveil the Galaxy S4.
The report came to SamMobile via an unnamed Samsung insider.
The Galaxy S4 is rumored to have a 4.99-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel camera. Some rumors even state that the Galaxy S4 could be coming with two quad-core processors, which would make it the first eight-core smartphone on the market.
The insider also told SamMobile that Samsung is planning on releasing a toned-down version of the Galaxy Note 2 for Europe. The device might not be called the Galaxy Note 2, but should feature many of the Galaxy Note 2's defining characteristics such as a large screen and S Pen stylus at a cheaper price.
Last, but not least, the report also states that Samsung is working on a 13.3-inch tablet with a QWERTY keyboard to directly compete with the ASUS Transformer series. There was no indication as to what operating system the tablet will utilize, although it will most likely be Android.
Bear in mind that none of this information has been officially confirmed by Samsung, but if these rumors are true, which one of these upcoming Samsung devices has you most excited?
