Apple recently featured three new advertisements for the iPhone 6s and 6S Plus, featuring actor Jamie Foxx and NBA MVP Stephen Curry. The videos were released in the weekend of mid-October, showcasing the features and capabilities of the two flagship handsets.
Two advertisements that featured Jamie Foxx lasted 15 seconds, The Verge reported. The actor presented the hands-free function of the virtual assistant Siri. In the video, Foxx was getting dressed then asked Siri how he looked, using the new hands-free function. Fox later teased Siri playfully for having a crush on him, after it answered that he sounds attractive. In the other ad, Foxx was holding two scripts then asked Siri to flip a coin to help him decide which film project to take. The results showed that he should go with the sci-fi western, as presented by the new iPhone feature, Apple Insider revealed. The Verge cited that the new commercials depended more on Foxx’s charisma to boast about the minor features of Siri, which all iPhone users may already be familiar with.
As for the third advertisement, it showcased recent add-ons to the Apple iPhone 6s and 6S Plus. It lasted 1 minute and delved more on the camera. The ad used the same statement that previous ads mentioned, stating that “not much has changed, except…” The ad mentioned several list of adjustments and features on the new phones, such as moving photos, 4K video shooting options and the fast image sharing capability. The third ad featured basketball superstar Steph Curry to show off the new video updates. He tossed a basketball from the three-point line, looked at the camera and walked away as the shot went through.
Apple Insider also mentioned that the newest iPhone sold well on its launch date. 13 million units were sold during the first three days of the handset becoming available. Recently, the iPhone 6s sold out in just 30 minutes after becoming available for preorder in South Korea.
GSM Arena wrote that the iPhone 6s released in September 2015 and showcased several powerful specifications. It measures 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1mm and weighs 143 grams. The handset has a 4.7-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 750 x 1334 and 326ppi density. The handset also includes Force Touch technology, iOS 9, upgradable to iOS 9.0.2 and the Apple A9 chipset. The iPhone 6s has a 12-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel secondary shooter.
More iPhone 6s and 6S Plus ads are expected in the coming weeks.
