"Halo 5: Guardians" is exclusive for Microsoft's Xbox One console. However, with Microsoft staying committed to bringing more games in other Microsoft-powered platforms, "Halo 5" might also be coming to PC.
During a livestream hosted by Games Radar, 343 Industries Franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor revealed that the possibility of bringing "Halo 5" to PC is very much possible.
"You know, Microsoft has made a huge commitment trying sort of... I think normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms. You see the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear in Xbox and Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC," O'Connor said in the interview via DSO Gaming.
The director cited that nothing is confirmed yet. However, he mentioned that it would not be hard to move "Halo 5" to PC and "take advantage of PC stuff" as they have developed the game in an "intel program."
According to Screen Rant, developing a PC version of the game will be a strategic move for Microsoft given that their new generation console is lagging behind Sony's PlayStation 4.
The news outlet furthered that after failing to release PC versions of games like "Gears of War," "Forza MotorSport" and "Halo: the Master Chief Collection," Microsoft could very well grab the opportunity of tapping the PC gaming market to release "Halo 5" and other big title games. Doing so will enable them to develop and establish a strong market position over their competitor that is yet to penetrate the PC gaming market.
Additionally, Screen Rant suggested that with a possible partnership with Oculus VR Headset -- Rift, the combination of Rift and PC gaming will definitely create some noise and drive unit and game sales up.
