This week's episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' saw a lot of major changes among the couples of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. While Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Christina (Sandra Oh) have officially called it quits, it appears like her best friend Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will be expanding their family.
Season nine's seventh episode, "I Was Made For Lovin' You," also shook up the newbie relationship between April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) as they dealt with a pregnancy scare and upcoming nuptials. The pair, who until this week appeared to be more friends with benefits than actual couple, decided to get married when they believed that they were pregnant.
However, after finding out that they were not expecting, April all-too-happily slips up, thanks God and says that they don't have to get married. But it seems Jackson was actually looking forward to marrying his best friend and instead chooses to end the relationship completely.
Like Derek and Meredith, it looks like Callie (Sara Ramirez) and wife Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) are moving on after the tragic plane crash that left Arizona with one less limb. After spending her first day back at the hospital in a complicated surgery, Arizona heads back home to spend with their baby daughter Sofia. Overall, it's a good day at the Robbins/Torres household.
In next week's episode, "Love Turns You Upside Down," the docs of Seattle Grace will push the new group of interns to step up their game at the hospital. Meredith will ask Heather (Tima Majorino) to help out with Derek's hand, while Christina will instigate a "healthy competition" between interns Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and Leah (Tessa Ferrer). However, Christina's interns will unintentionally cause a medical emergency for one of her patients, ABC teased.
Fellow intern Shane (Gaius Charles) will work with April during "lumps and bumps" duty, while Jo (Camilla Luddington) will join Alex (Justin Chambers) in a pediatrics case to save a baby's life. Guest star Neve Campell will also appear on the episode as Derek's sister Liz Sheperd.
'Grey's Anatomy' S9E8, "Love Turns You Upside Down" will air on December 6 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
